ADJUSTING METHOD OF HOSE RUPTURE VALVES

1] B
Boom S
Safety
f t VValve
l

First adjust one safety valve.

Remove “E” hose between the 2 valves and blind the connection points.
Mount pressure gauges on E, V2 and Pi of the first safety valve (see page 1)

Lift the boom till end of stroke : the pressure will raise till 330 bar
bar.

Push the joystick very slowly in boom down direction.

At the moment that the V2 pressure drops, measure the pilot pressure Pi :
this is the opening pressure of the MCV (A).

Push the joystick further in boom down direction.

At the moment that the E pressure drops, read the pilot pressure Pi again :
this is the opening pressure of the hose rupture valve (B)

Now you have to adjust the valve until the difference between (A) and (B) is about
0.5 à 1 bar (maximum). A bigger difference stands for a greater delay.

So screw the adjust screw (on top of the valve, below the cap) in or out.
Note that screwing out speeds up the opening time.

For adjusting the second safety valve, mount pressure gauges on E LEFT VALVE &
E RIGHT VALVE (keep the E hose disconnected !) Lower the boom slowly and adjust this
valve
l so that
h theh pressure ddrop on the
h “ E” gauges occurs at the
h same moment.

After adjustment, mount the E hose again.

2] Arm Safety Valve

Same method of adjustment as above described.
