Density

Q1. Define density.

Ans: The density of a substance is the mass per unit volume. Its SI Unit is kg/m3.
Density is a scalar quantity.

Q2. How to determine the density of a:

a. Liquid – To find the density of a liquid, we need to find its mass and volume
first. After that we can divide the mass by the volume to find the density.

b. Regularly shaped solid – To find its density, we need to find its mass and
volume and then divide the mass by volume.

c. Irregularly shaped solid – To find its density, we need to find its mass and
then its volume using the water displacement method. After that we can
divide the mass by volume
