The research adopts a monomethod approach which uses only one method in the process of
collecting & analysing data. The approach adopted is through qualitative approach, by
gathering non-standardized data away from numbers and statistics, qualitative research
focuses on analyzing the social production of topics, events, or practices. because it extracts
findings as descriptions and on a conceptual basis. It is also used to know behaviours’,
opinions, attitudes, and other variables to get descriptive results. Additionally, the framework
of qualitative research design is adaptable since it may be built and rebuilt to a higher extent.
Thus, using qualitative research techniques can result in complete and suitable evaluations of
a problem, giving participants enough opportunity to decide what is consistent for them. As a
result, it is simple to comprehend difficult situations. (Rahman, 2017).

In a qualitative study, data can be collected through questionnaires, surveys, interviews and
focus groups. In our study, we will use interviews to collect the data as this method is one of
the most convenient ways regarding data collection. An interview is a research method that
enables the direct gathering of data from the participant in the study with a one-to-one
conversation by using a series of questions arranged in a structured order. The advantage of
the interview is that it allows you to collect rich quality data on the research questions. The
data elicited through interviews have less possibilities of error since they are collected with a
one-to-one interaction between the correspondent and the researcher. An interview is also
flexible up to an extent and helps to collect detailed data on the topic of enquiry. Interviews
are one of the most preferred research instruments as it gives a better understanding of social
phenomenon and allows to capture detailed and holistic insights from participants. (Gill et al.,
2008)

Time horizons:

There are multiple types of time horizons, Longitudinal approach will be conducted as part of
the research as data will be collected over multiple periods of time which allows for
discovering changes that happened during the specified time period from by comparing
results of the previous interviews and the latest one. Researchers watch and gather
information on a variety of variables in longitudinal studies without attempting to affect those
variables. This approach provides well defined explanations on behavioural and
developmental changes occurring over time that might not be captured using a cross-sectional
approach. The interview will be performed on repeated intervals and extended period
assessing changes in performance management approaches, whether implementation is being
performed and allocating more time to absorb different point of views to understand the link
between performance management and organisational behaviour in public sector focusing on
the time period from the beginning of the pandemic of COVID-19 spread until the current
present day where the pandemic has been mostly under control. (Thomas, 2022).
