3rd Thailand Open Masters Games 2023

1. Objectives
1.1 To promote and develop the sports potential of the elderly
1.2 To build international relationship
1.3 To strengthen the economy and tourism
1.4 To recruit representatives to participate in international competitions.
2. Competition venue: Gymnasium of the National Sports University Chonburi Campus
3. Competition date: 4 – 6 February 2023
4. Competition rules
4.1 THE CURRENT WORLD KARATE FEDERATION (WKF) COMPETITION RULES APPLY.
4.2 Single-elimination tournament rules apply.
4.3 Athletes may apply for multiple categories, however only in one age group.

4.4 To waive the competition right, athletes must make a written notice to the
competition committee on the team manager meeting day only.
4.5 Athletes participating in the competition must report themselves on the
scheduled date and time.
5. Type of competition
Divided into 22 categories as follows
5.1 Kata competition including 12 categories:
1. MALE Individual Kata competition, totaling 5 categories
1.1 age group 40 - 44 years old (1979 - 1983)
1.2 age group 45 - 49 years old (1974 - 1978)
1.3 age group 50 - 54 years old (1969 - 1973)
1.4 age group 55 - 59 years old (1964 - 1968)
1.5 Age over 60 years old (1963)
2. FEMALE Individual Kata competition, total 5 categories
2.1 age group 40 - 44 years old (1979 - 1983)
2.2 age group 45 - 49 years old (1974 - 1978)
2.3 age group 50 - 54 years old (1969 - 1973)
2.4 age group 55 - 59 years old (1964 - 1968)
2.5 age group over 60 years old (since 1963)
3. Team kata competition including 2 categories:
3.1 age group 40 - 49 years old (1974 - 1983)
3.2 age group over 50 years old (since 1973)
Note: For Team kata competition (3 person), mixture of male / female is allowed
(for example, 3 males, or 1 male 2 females, etc.)
5.2 Kumite competition total of 10 categories
1. MALE Individual KUMITE competition, totaling 5 categories
1.1 age group 40 - 44 years old (1979 - 1983)
1.2 age group 45 - 49 years old (1974 - 1978)
1.3 age group 50 - 54 years old (1969 - 1973)
1.4 age group 55 - 59 years old (1964 - 1968) (KIHON IPPON competition)

1.5 age group over 60 years old (1963) (KIHON IPPON competition)
2. FEMALE Individual KUMITE competition, totaling 5 categories
2.1 age group 40 - 44 years old (1979 - 1983)
2.2 age group 45 - 49 years old (1974 - 1978)
2.3 age group 50 - 54 years old (1969 - 1973)
2.4 age group 55 - 59 years old (1964 - 1968) (KIHON IPPON competition)
2.5 age group over 60 years old (since 1963) (KIHON IPPON competition)
Note: Timing for Kumite competition, age 40 - 44 years old, 45 - 49 years old and 50 -
54 years old, both male and female are 2 minutes per round.
6. Competition entry and entry criteria
6.1 Apply from now until January 10, 2023.
6.2 Apply at the Thailand Karate Federation

6.3 Application fee can be paid at Account name: Thailand Karate Federation,
account number: 986-3-857580, Krung Thai Bank
(Bring proof of payment and submit on the day of the competition or via the
association's email or by post)
6.4 Athletes applying for the competition must be physically healthy. No illness or
disease that is at risk to oneself while competing
6.5 Athletes participating in the competition must hold medical certificate or health
check to confirm good health and ready to participate in the competition and must
bring the original documents upon the competition day.
6.6 The results of the competition will be used as criteria for selecting athletes to
participate in the World Masters Championships 2023 (**IF karate is included as part
in the competition**)

6.7 Check the name list and the competition category and notify for correction from
January 15, 2023.
6.8 Entry Fee
Foreigner registration fee: 30 USD
Thai registration fee: 300 baht
7.Schedule of the competition
February 4, 2023
10.00 – 12.00 Team Manager meeting
13.00 – 15.00 Register athletes, submit health check-up certificates at the
Eastern National Stadium Bang Lamung District Chonburi Province
February 5, 2023
08.30 – 09.00 Report athletes.
9:00 – 10:30 Male individual kata competition
10.30 – 12.00 Female individual kata competition
12.00 – 13.00 Lunch break
13.00 – 14.30 Team kata (mixed) competition
14.30 – 15.00 Medal presentation ceremony
February 6, 2023
08.30 – 09.00 Report athletes
9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Male kumite competition
10.30 – 12.00 Female kumite competition
12.00 – 13.00 Lunch break
13.00 – 13.30 Medal presentation ceremony
8. Contest prizes
8.1 All athletes will receive certificates and 1 souvenir t-shirt per person
8.2 The 1st, 2nd and 3rd place athletes will receive gold, silver and bronze medals
respectively with certificate
9. Accidents or property loss
9.1 In the event that athletes, coaches or any other officials have lost property, the
competition committee shall not be held liable in any way.

9.2 In case of any accident that occurred during the competition, the competition
committee shall not be responsible in all cases.
