SUPEROHM® 3754 (3748-11)

MEDIUM VOLTAGE CROSSLINKABLE EPR ELECTRICAL INSULATION

COMPOUND SUITABLE FOR APPLICATIONS UP TO 35 kV.

DESCRIPTION
Orange polymeric composition in pellet form, based on EPR rubber containing peroxide curing agent, ready
for extrusion in a conventional CV or dry cure extrusion line.

APPLICATIONS
Cables insulated with SUPEROHM® 3754 (3748-11) are suitable for industrial, power, mining, distribution,
and other medium voltage applications for wire and cable products rated up to 35 kV or higher depending
on specification requirements.

SPECIFICATIONS
When extruded and cured consistent with standard safe wire and cable industry practices, cable insulated
with SUPEROHM® 3754 (3748-11) EPR insulation will comply with the requirements as specified in the
following standards:

PROCESSING
SUPEROHM® 3754 (3748-11) compound is engineered to be processed on conventional extrusion
equipment. It is recommended that this product is processed using a shallow screw, cross channel
obstruction such as mixing rings should be avoided. Metering screw with 2.5-3:1 compression ratio in 20/1
extruders should produce satisfactory results. The compound supplied is in the cleanest state and is of the
highest quality; however, the use of a breaker plate with a screen pack of approximately 20/40 or 20/60
mesh is recommended for optimal rheological flow and steady back pressure.

Pre-drying of the compound is not necessary, provided that the compound has been stored unopened in a
cool, dry area.

The following conditions are given as a guide for processing (single extrusion):

Temperature Profile: F C
