This is to certify that Project report entitled "Report on fibre optics cable" is
submitted in the partial fulfilment of requirement for the award of the Diploma in
Computer Engineering by Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education as record
of students' own work carried out by them under the guidance and supervision at DY
Patil School Of Engineering (Charholi), during the academic year 2022-23.
1. Brief Introduction:
A fiber-optic cable contains anywhere from a few to hundreds of optical fibers
within a plastic casing. Also known as optic cables or optical fiber cables, they transfer data
signals in the form of light and travel hundreds of miles significantly faster than those used in
traditional electrical cables. And because fiber-optic cables are non-metallic, they are not
affected by electromagnetic interference (i.e. lightening) that can reduce speed of transmission.

1. Brief Introduction:
A fiber optic cable is a network cable that contains strands of glass fibers
inside an insulated casing. They're designed for long-distance, high-
performance data networking, and telecommunications. Compared to wired cables,
fiber optic cables provide higher bandwidth and transmit data over longer
distances. Fiber optic cables support much of the world's internet, cable television,
and telephone systems.
