I am writing to apply for Computer Science at the University of Western Australia. I am an
international student from Lagos Nigeria, and I have completed a three-year undergraduate program (Higher National Diploma or HND) in computer science. I come from a family of entrepreneurs, nurses and my late father was a successful herbal doctor. My upbringing has inspired my passion for technology and its potential to improve the herbal healthcare industry. My father was a well-known and successful herbal doctor, and he was my biggest inspiration growing up. I have always been impressed by his knowledge and dedication to his patients, and I want to modernize his legacy by using technology to improve the herbal healthcare industry. The University of Western Australia program specifically interests me because of it’s focus on practical application and its emphasis on research. In addition to my studies, I currently run an ecommerce platform for herbal products called Herbsmore.ng, which has allowed me to gain experience in entrepreneurship and technology. In terms of relevant experience, I have worked as an ICT Training Assistant at the Lagos State General Hospital for my NYSC and I have been the director for Herbsmore.ng for the past three years. In this role, I have gained practical experience in Web Development, Graphics Design, Social Media Marketing and have worked in a team environment. Growing up, my parents always emphasized the importance of education and hard work. They instilled in me a love of learning and a desire to use my knowledge and skills to make a positive impact on the world. My family has also been a source of inspiration for my interest in the healthcare industry. My mother who is very old now, requires a lot of medical assistance, and I have seen first-hand the challenges and difficulties that can arise when accessing healthcare. I believe that technology has the potential to make healthcare more accessible and efficient, and I am eager to be part of the effort to improve the industry. After completing my Computer Science, I plan to pursue a career in research and development in the healthcare industry. I believe that the University of Western Australia program will provide me with the knowledge and skills necessary to achieve my career goals. As an international student, I am excited about the opportunity to study in Australia . The Australia has a strong reputation for its educational programs, and I believe that studying at the University of Western Australia will provide me with a valuable educational experience. I am also looking forward to the opportunity to immerse myself in a new culture and make connections with students from around the world. Thank you for considering my application. I am excited about the opportunity to study at the University of Western Australia and contribute to the vibrant community of scholars at your institution.
