Consumer law- provides protection to the consumer against issues like fraud or miss-selling when they

purchase a product or service.

Consumer protection- the protection of buyers of goods and services against low quality or dangerous
products and advertisements that deceive people.

DOF

The Department of Health (DOH) is the principal health agency in the Philippines. It is responsible for
ensuring access to basic public health services to all Filipinos through the provision of quality health care
and regulation of providers of health goods and services.

DTI

The DTI is the primary agency in the promotion and development of MSMEs through the provision of
various assistance and interventions, e.g., financing, marketing and promotion, human resource
development, product development, and advocacy. DTI provides protection to consumers through
consumer education and information dissemination programs. Information materials such as Consumer
Alerts, Tips, and Advisories are regularly released and updated.

FDA

The Food and Drug Administration is responsible for protecting the public health by ensuring the safety,
efficacy, and security of human and veterinary drugs, biological products, and medical devices; and by
ensuring the safety of our nation's food supply, cosmetics, and products that emit radiation.
