Since the consumers receive health
information, products, and services from
various sources, thus individuals may be
prone to frauds.

An example of which is quackery.


QUACKERY
It is a form of a health fraud, is any
advertisement, promotion, or sale of products
and services that have not been scientifically
proven safe and effective.

It is being operated by a quack.

What is a quack???
 It refers to a person or company
involved in health fraud which is
usually tries hard to appear
scientific.
 He/she may recommend products
or gives services without any
medical background with a
promise of quick cures, miracles or
unbelievable formulas.

welfare, and establishes standards of conduct
for business and industry.

The right which guarantee survival, adequate food,


clothing, shelter, health care, education and
sanitation.
2. THE RIGHT TO SAFETY

 The right to be protected against the


marketing of goods or the provision of
services that are hazardous to health and life.
3. THE RIGHT TO INFORMATION

The right to be protected against


fraudulent/dishonest or misleading
advertising/labelling/promotion and the right to be
given the facts and information needed to make an
informed choice.
4. THE RIGHT TO CHOOSE

The right to choose products at


competitive prices with an assurance of
satisfactory quality.
5. THE RIGHT TO REPRESENTATION

The right to express consumer


interests in the making and
execution of government policies.

The right to be compensated for


misrepresentation, careless goods or
unsatisfactory services.

The right to acquire the knowledge


and skills necessary to be an
informed consumer.
