CONSUMER
1.Right to basic needs – pertains to the survival needs such as the
need to food, shelter, clothing, education, and sanitation.
2.Right to safety – protection against the marketing and sale of
goods and services that is dangerous to health and life.
3.Right to be informed – protection against dishonest advertising
and labelling. The consumer must be provided with information
about the product or service he is to buy or avail.
4.Right to choose – freedom to select from a variety of products
and services considering the price and quality.

5. Right to redress – this is the right to relief or remedy, the
compensation for misrepresentation, or unsatisfactory services.
6. Right to be heard – takes into consideration the interest of
consumer in forming government policies about health and in
developing products and services.
7. Right to consumer education – provides knowledge that is
needed to be an informed consumer.
8. Right to healthy environment – assurance of a place where one
can live and work, that is free from danger or harm to one’s well –
being.
THESE RESPONSIBILITIES ARE AS FOLLOWS:

1. Critical awareness - Use products and services in manner by which they are
intended. Choose products and services that are affordable and of
good quality.
2. Involvement or action – consumers must know how to defend themselves
and act to get a fair deal. report or notify to the concerned government agency
any case of dishonest advertisement or labelling of products.
3. Ecological responsibility – consider the impact of their action or decision on
the physical environment.
4. Social responsibility – consumers must act with concern and sensitivity to
the impact of their actions to the interest of others especially to the poor
5. Practice solidarity or cooperation with other consumers to strengthen and
increase influence to ensure that consumer interest is considered and met.
