BEST WAYS TO MAXIMISE SCORE IN BIOLOGY IN BOARD

EXAMINATION

1. READ NCERT TEXT THOROUGHLY.

2. PRACTICE NCERT DIAGRAMS AS MANY TIMES AS POSSIBLE.
3. WRITE THE ANSWERS IN POINTS.
4. READ THE QUESTION TWICE BEFORE ATTEMPTING IT.
5. MAKE OUT THE DEMAND OF THE QUESTION BY
MARKING THE WORDS.
EG. What happens to the following parts in a flower, after
fertilization?
Ovary, ovule, petals
6. AVOID REPETITION OF SAME POINT.
Eg. Merits of Biodegradable waste. (Write two points)
1. Biodegradable wastes can be broken down into simpler
form by the decomposers.
2. They can be easily decomposed. (Avoid this point)
7. UNDERLINE THE KEY WORDS IN YOUR ANSWERS.
For eg. Pollination is the process of transfer of mature
pollen grain from anther to stigma of a flower.

COMMON MISTAKES COMMITTED BY THE STUDENTS

In the questions where diagrams are to be drawn and asked

parts to be labeled.
Label only those parts which are asked.
In the questions where diagrams are to be drawn and asked
parts to be labeled.
For eg.
Draw a diagram of flower. Name the following parts and also
label them.
i. Brightly coloured parts, which attracts insects for
pollination.
ii. Part which receives the pollen grains.
iii. Part which changes into fruit after fertilization.

Mistake: Here the student has made the diagram, but he

didn’t label the parts in accordance to the question. It is not
clear, which part is i, ii or iii.
