1. Heady
-having a strong or exhilarating effect.
He smelled like a heady mix of male musk and something so faint and sweet, it made her want to press
her face to the skin of his chest for a better smell.
2. Triumph
- a great victory or achievement.
They celebrated their triumph with a march through the streets of the city.
3. Trail
- a mark or a series of signs or objects left behind by the passage of someone or something.

4. Gesticulating
- use gestures, especially dramatic ones, instead of speaking or to emphasize one's words.
Everything he says is interrupted with sudden howls of laughter and much gesticulating, that causes us
to not understand anything he said.

- noisy and difficult to control.
The goat merely had a little set of sharp teeth and a severely obstreperous attitude, whereas the guard

6. Tardy

If you can stomach trying to control and shoot, then going through the campaign mode just might make
you retch.
8. Heaving
- (of a place) extremely crowded.

9. Cryptic
-having a meaning that is mysterious or obscure.

-imbue (something) with new life and vitality.
Simply put, a clean brow area lends the face a fresh, revitalized look that might otherwise be marred by

1. Shivering

1. Snapped
- break or cause to break suddenly and completely, typically with a sharp cracking sound.

2. Plaques

commemoration of a person or event.

They're meant for simple navigational tasks in the dark, like sneaking off to the kitchen for a midnight

-unusual or surprising in a way that is unsettling or hard to understand.

His instantly likeable, goofy manner, successfully cajoled the audience into a perfect mood for the rest
of the show.
3. Gruel
a thin liquid food of oatmeal or other meal boiled in milk or water.
In a candlelit near-darkness I sat nonchalantly trying not to shiver, on my insulated granite chair and
spooned invisible hot veggie burger gruel.
4. Epicure
a person who takes particular pleasure in fine food and drink.
With effort, she managed to swallow the first soothing mouthful, and she sipped at the water as an
epicure would savor a good wine.
5. Affluence
the state of having a great deal of money; wealth.
Her need to break-free from standard cultural restraints on women and her glorified image of affluence,
led to creations that were both glamorous and comfortable.
6. Mestizo
- The term mestizo means mixed in Spanish, and is generally used throughout Latin America to describe
people of mixed ancestry with a white European and an indigenous background.
The comparative advantage of the Mexican telenovela over Philippine television drama is the markedly
mestizo features of its actors and actresses.
7. Mason
- a builder and worker in stone.
The expert mason, who constructs or works with stone, brick, or concrete, huskily cleared his throat as
old men do before calling his helper.
8. Demolish
- to completely destroy a building, especially in order to use the land for something else.
If, after a certain time, a building has not acquired new uses, it will be demolished to leave only a trace
of its former presence.
9. Wretched
-of poor quality; very bad.
- used to express anger or annoyance.
The wretched people were forced to work for free on the construction of great public works while
simultaneously having every last penny squeezed from them.
10. Pledge
-a thing that is given as security for the fulfillment of a contract or the payment of a debt and is liable to
forfeiture in the event of failure.

a cruel and oppressive ruler.
Growing up out of the captain of the people or signore of the commune, the tyrant annihilated both

5. Aptitude
a natural ability to do something.
The bark is completely dog-like, and the primitive hunting instincts have been cultivated into a
marvelous aptitude for herding sheep and cattle.

Out there in the woods lay a multitude of plants she wanted to see, and no slithering reptile was going

- (of a person) sit somewhere, especially on something high or narrow.
She collected what she could find and perched in a chair, reading until sundown, when the hunger
pangs hit her again.
3. Chirping
- (typically, of a small bird or an insect) utter a short, sharp, high-pitched sound.
Birds flitted from tree to tree, chirping at each other and battling over the best roosting sights.
4. Meadow
- a piece of grassland, especially one used for hay.
The grounds include a kitchen garden, vineyard, formal garden, fruit trees and hillside meadow for sun
bathing and walks.
5. Buzzing
- making a low, continuous humming or murmuring sound.
Liz plopped a straw hat with a red, white, and blue band on Dean's head just as three jets in close
formation screamed overhead, buzzing the town in a deafening roar.
