Tru-Talent Personal Assessment Paper

According to the TruTalent personality test, I am an INFJ. My personality is

characterized by creativity and feeling. I am more reserved than outgoing and tend to focus

inward and concentrate on one project at a time. In addition, I maintain a steady pace and

consider every outcome before journeying into the unknown. I like to speculate and theorize on

“what could be”. Also, I like what I do to be meaningful and to lift others with my thoughts and

actions. Positivity and flexibility are needed in my work environment so that I can use my

intuition and feeling to find the best solution possible. However, I am sensitive to criticism and

stubborn. I can be blinded by one method of thinking when placed under pressure. Once I have

made up my mind, I will not change it unless shown a more straightforward path. In addition,

some organization is required to reduce pressure and allow my mind to function at its best.

My temperament is that of an Idealist. I try to bring out the best in others through

motivation and positive comments. I am more interested in the individual than the

accomplishments they may have. A person’s soul and individual traits define who they are rather

than what they can do. However, attachment to one style of thinking and personal taste limits an

idealist in the workplace. They can be unpredictable and lack practicality. In addition, they are

poor at disciplining others and handing down judgment to others rather than themselves. I judge

myself more than others and tend to lock myself into a path once I have started. I want to lift

others and see them succeed more than myself. I have worked in restaurants since I was 16. The
best part of work was seeing customers' needs fulfilled even when I was tired and drained from

an intense rush or dealing with a large group of people.

I am an economics major and I want to look past the diagrams and graphs studied by

economists and look at the individuals behind them. I want to apply my understanding of

economics to uplift the poor and disheartened. While studying economics, most of my time is

spent speculating and theorizing about solving problems that involve large groups of people over

long periods. The creativity that comes with my personality allows me to look deeper and find

new solutions to problems plaguing nations across the world. However, I may be locked into one

solution or method of thinking and misinterpret the problem. Also, if I reach a wrong conclusion,

I am less likely to attempt to solve the problem again due to fear of judgment from others. Also,

economics involves looking at large data sets and I am more interested in looking inwards. I have

to look past myself and the needs of those close to me and look at the nation and the world as a

whole.
