Personal Philosophy
Throughout this course I've realized several things about public health, for example
what's really its purpose, what are their duties or how they can achieve the goals that the planned.
If I have to choose one of thing from the all that I liked about it, I would choose how can change
in a incommensurable way the lives of the people. There is a lot of example to show this, I'm
going to talk about two of them. The number one is vaccine and the eradication of diseases that
have affected humanity for centuries, Polio it's one the big ones. Since early generations, Polio it
was the biggest fear of all parents, they didn't can sleep or live, praying that this disease never
affected their children, and for centuries they change and snatched the lives of uncountable
amount of them. I love how Public health help in this issue, firstly reducing the number of cases,
secondly raising awareness about hoe the vaccine can eliminate in a 100% the risk to contract it
and finally eradicating the issue in nearly whole world. I love how can just make a chances to
improve and change in our lives, through the analysis, planning and results.
However, there is the other side of the coin. If I have to say something that I don't really
like and even cause me outrage, it's how undervalued and abandoned its public health in some
places of world. In my country for example, the system of Public Health just may be catalog as a
mess, and the part of this all of this, the one that really hurt me, it's that in a great amount of
these cases where public health doesn't work it's because the same people. I don't like how
people think about public health as a joke or something that doesn't really matter, even if they are
seeing the issues is suffocating them, or other ones just don't want to make a change in their
lives. I think that also that it's the main raison that I selected public health, I would like to
improve the system here, because I love my country and love the people that are in it, because all
of us are children of god. I want to make a difference about how people think about Public

Health since an early age, because if we start to insert values and learnings about how essential it
is, about how affect our lives and what may become the consequences if we don't take care. I
want to let them know about the success cases, how they work and how we can replicate and
take the best part of all of them in order to solve problems that have been there throughout years,
and the solution always had been in our hands. I know that as a problem that we have been
coming since time immemorial, I think that we can make a difference if we just start to making
changes from now, because we need public health in our lives. WHO (2023) provide us a several
amount of public health, such as different kind of diseases and them death rate, over height,
mental health, physical health, additive pollution, environmental pollution, stress at work places,
sedentary, maternal health, diet, alcohol, smoking, and so on are problems that we are living
At least, I know that it's a humongous goal and for this I know that I have to start with
something. There are a some of branch of Public Health that I really like it and also are related
with my main goal, such as Public Health Educator or Epidemiologist. As a Health Educator I
can help people in my community to understand the importance of Public Health, I can start with
little specifics groups, with determinate areas, like schools, universities, neighborhoods, work
places, and so on. Based on the information that CDC (2016) show us, I also like epidemiologist
because I can learn about the issue, the risk, factors and all about it, and I can use them to find a
proper plan to reduce or solve them. I know that public health can bless our lives, and can mark a
