Fish Filleters

Canadian Fishing Company’s affiliate, Delta Pacific Seafoods (DPS) is the largest fresh, frozen and
value added seafood processor in British Columbia. Delta Pacific specializes in providing high quality,
custom seafood processing, value added and cold storage services to its customers.
Delta Pacific is currently seeking individuals with expert knife skills to join their filleting team. Fish
Filleters are responsible for cutting, trimming and filleting fish ensuring minimal wastage while
maintaining a safe and sanitary environment.
Job Duties:

 Trim, fillet and clean various species of seafood

 Learn to grade and sort fish
 Clean and sanitize work area and equipment
 Other processing line work as assigned
Requirements:

 Expert knife skills – 1 year of butcher/knife experience required

 Good hand-eye coordination
 Must have basic English communication skills
 Must be able to stand for an eight hour shift
 Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
 Must take direction and abide by safety rules
 Must be hard working and have reliable transportation
Shift Hours
Monday – Friday 6.30am – 2.30pm. Occasional overtime and weekend hours may be required.
Wages
Average hourly earnings $26-$30 for experienced filleters – earnings vary by skill level.
Training
On the job training will be provided to learn and master the knife skills required for filleting. Wage
rate will be $15 per hour.
Successful trainees will be offered full-time employment, with group benefits (medical, extended
health, dental) after 3 months and Group RRSP after 12 months.
