Answers:
Among those 4 questions posted above, these are the two questions that I want to answer:
Question No.1
How significant is reading for you as a student?

Reading is very important to us as a student because it helps grow our vocabulary and
understanding about the world. The closeness of snuggling up with a favorite book leads to an
increase in self-confidence and imagination, and helps us gain a wealth of knowledge from the books
we read.

Reading is necessary for learning, so instilling a love of reading is the key that unlocks the
door to lifelong learning. Reading aloud presents books as sources of pleasant, entertaining, and
exciting formative experiences for us to remember. Children who value books are more motivated to
read on their own and will likely continue to hold that value for the rest of their lives.

Instilling a love of reading gives us a head starts on expanding our vocabulary and building
independence and self-confidence. It helps to learn learn to make sense not only of the world around
them but also people, building social-emotional skills and of course, imagination. Reading exposes us
to other styles, other voices, other forms, and other genres of writing. Importantly, it exposes us to
writing that’s better than our own and helps us to improve. Not only that, but reading is a critical
foundation for developing logic and problem-solving skills. Cognitive development is “the construction
of thought processes, including remembering, problem solving, and decision-making, from childhood
through adolescence to adulthood” (HealthofChildren.com).

Question No. 3
As a reader, which of the literary genres do you prefer to read? Why?
When I was young, I liked to read fiction, mostly Harry Potter, and even today I’m a huge fan.
But after Harry Potter came to an end, I realized I need something different and I’m tired of reading
fiction which cannot improve my knowledge. I wanted to learn about life, and I decided to start
reading different genre such as classical literature in which allows us to take a deep, deep dive into
the lives, worldviews, and mindsets of people we've never met, visit the places we've never been, and
understand the times we'll never directly experience. Anthropology books in which we can gain a
broad knowledge of other cultures as well as skills in observation, analysis, research, critical thinking,
writing, and dealing with people from all cultures. Also, Folklore which plays an important role in
passing along core values or character traits. Folktales were often employed to share a common
history, to reinforce cultural values, or highlight important traditions.

LET’S DO MORE:
Choose one on your favorite literary pieces and create a storyboard out of it.

 My storyboard is all about one of my favorite fiction story/movies entitled Moana.
