Marriage is a special bond between man and women that tie the wedding knot
after making a promise to be companions for a lifetime. It is the physical, mental and
spiritual union of the two. For my own perspective, marriage is so important. Every
individual should think deeply about marrying someone because marriage is not an easy
level to put ourselves into. However, there are some people who doesn’t understand how
significant marriage is. As for my observation, there are a lot of children experiencing
major changes in the family and one of such is divorce or separation of parents.

Every nation in the world has divorce laws except Philippines. In the seminar it is
being said that, to legally break -up the bond of marriage between a husband and a wife,
our law provides grounds for annulment of marriage. Annulment is different from divorce
since the former is a legal procedure for declaring a void or voidable marriage null and
void while the later is the termination or cancellation of a marital union. Thus, it is
important to consider making bright decisions when it comes to marrying someone, being
able reflect if the person is someone we wanted to be with or that this person is someone
who is faithful enough to the relationship. We have to be keen with our standards and
qualifications before marrying someone. Moreover, during the duration of the seminar,
psychological incapacity is the most common used ground for annulment. In this law it
stated that, psychologically incapacitated to comply with the essential marital obligations
of marriage shall likewise be void even if such incapacity becomes manifest only after
solemnization. I have learned that; such ground must be taken into a proper context and
should not be equated with insanity or mental inability.

In conclusion, I feel that the discussion during the seminar have been verry
detailed and conclusive for one to have better understanding and knowledge on the topic
of marriage. I have learned different legal basis and different concepts of psychological
incapacity which is considered to be as the commonly used terms for annulment. Overall,
I learned that, marriage is not an easy level of a relationship thus considering making
bright decision is important.
