Notes on avoiding damage through
contamination and foreign objects
1 Open engine hood
2 Detach the charge air hose (1) at the hot
film mass air flow sensor (B2/5)
3 Loosen screws (2a)
4 Remove the top section of the air filter
housing (2)
5 Take out air cartridge (4)
Clean
6 Clean the top section (2) and the bottom
section (3) of the air filter housing from
inside
7 Install in the reverse order

The screws (2a) remain in the top
section of the air filter housing (2).
*BA09.10-P-1001-01F
Do not detach the electrical connector at
the hot film mass air flow sensor (B2/5).
Place the top section of the air filter housing
(2) in the engine compartment.
Lift the top section of the air filter
housing (2) in the front and pull it out from
the guides of the top section of the air filter
housing (3) at the back.
Replace air filter element (4), do not
clean
Cleaner from package *BR00.45-Z-1028-04A
Installation: Check the charge air hose
(1) on the turbocharger for firm seating.
