1. DESCRIPTION :

1.1 Technical data :

Refer to drawing S0800-114

Air flow 46 700 m3/h
Fluid to be cleaned AIR

1.2 General data :

The filtration assembly includes following the air direction :

- Rain hoods panels.
- A filter housing, composed of :
. mosquitos protection screen
. inlet vertical louvers in polypropylen
. H4W3 filter bank with filter pockets cells
. pressure gage and pressure switch.
- A silencer housing, composed of :
. vertical baffles for 40 dB(A)
. two outlet flanges

1.2.1 Inlet protection :

weather louvers in polypropylene construction, type vertical.
Efficient for avoiding water and sand ingress
Pressure Drop : ~ 50 Pa

1.2.2 The complete housing :

Made of 5 mm thick sheet, bent and welded continuously outside
and discontinuously inside ; inside corrosion protection is completed
wherever needed by Mastiflex PU86 sealant.
Coating on intrnal and external surface :
80 micron as total dry film thickness
One maintenance door
2 top outlets horizontal connecting flange, vertical air flow, positionned in
the roof of the casing.

1.2.3 The filter bank :

- Pocket Filters : AAF Pocket filters

- Filter quantity : 12 pieces
- Filter Class coording toEN 779 : G4 - EN779
- Airflow per cell : maximum 4.330 m3/h
- Dimensions filter cell : 592 x 592 x 500 mm
- Initial Pressure Drop : ~ 70 Pa
- Final Pressure Drop : 250 Pa
- Media : synthetic

1.2 Total pressure drop :

Inlet louver Filters Silencer Total

50 Pa 250 Pa 100 Pa ~ 400 Pa

2. INSTALLATION :

2.1 Installation of the rain hoods pannels :

a. Fasten the right and left panels on the upstream filtration housing flange
with, H, M8-25 bolts and washers.
b. Lift the roof panel and bolt it on both upper housing flange and upper
lateral panels, with H, M8-25 bolts and washers.

2.2 Installation the filter housing :

The filter and silencer housing are delivered bolt together.

a. Lift with a crane and four slings the filter-silencer housing and place it
on the supporting frame
b. Anchor the filter housing on the supporting frame by using the height
dia 14 mm holes.
(anchoring bolts are not supplied by Aaf-sa)

2.3 Installation of the filter cells :

a. Place the filter cells frame in the filter bank U profile.

b. Install a gasket on filter cells vertical frame side.
c. Close the maintenance door.

3. HOUSING CLEANING :

- Take a rag and remove the dust deposits of the frames.

- Inspect the two housings inside and remove all the parts that could have
been left after the housing assembly (washers, nuts, bits of cardboard,
rags...).
- Remove with a vacuum cleaner dust, sand... accumulated on the
housing floors.

4. DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE GAUGE INSTALLATION :

The differential pressure gauge Dungs is already installed

on the filtration housing.

Check the setting before starting the installation. If re-setting

is required see Dungs differential pressure gage bulletin.

Check hose is correctly connected on "LO" pressure gage tip.

5. MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS :

5.1 Preventive maintenance :

During the first year of operation, it is recommended to check and note

every week (once a week) the filter pressure drop.

The pressure drop monitoring sheet has to provide at least the

following information
for each pressure drop value recording :
. date,
. atmospheric temperature,
. number of ventilation unit operating hours
. filter cell pressure drop
. filter replacement if replaced.

Check regularly the following points :

. cleanliness of the weather louvers.
. calibration of manometer
. filter dirtiness
. hose connection on differential pressure gage tip and housing
pressure tip
. tightness of the sealant on junction between the two housings, inside
and outside

042032-1001 Version A Page 5 / 20

AAF-SA CATERPILLAR

. tightness of the sealant between the filter cell frames

. the good condition and air tightness of gaskets on access door
. coating of housings inside and outside. Re-coating will be necessary
after several years of installation.

6. SPARE PART LIST :

As the main filter unit is made of static parts, there is no mechanical wear.

The only parts to be replaced are the filter cells and frame gasket which
are
considered as consumable in the installation
