they had from the last class.

1.2 During Stage

● T gives handout to Ss.

● On the handout there are simple sentences in different tenses, each
with an unnoted timeline.
S-SS
“I do my homework.” “I did my homework” “I am doing my
homework.” “I was doing my homework.” “I have done my
homework.” “I have been doing my homework.”

● Ss are given time to discuss with partner and draw notes on the
timeline that could indicate the tense represented by each sentence.
● Ss are invited to draw the timeline on the board and then T S-SS
discusses with Ss about whether they agree the timelines drawn on
the board can reflect the tenses used. T-SS

● T continues with more discoveries regarding time phrases.

S-SS
I do my homework - usually, once a week, always

I did my homework - yesterday, last year, last month

I am doing my homework - right now, at the moment / these days

S-S
I was doing my homework - at this time yesterday, at 5 p.m. last Monday SS-SS
I have done my homework - already, just

I have been doing my homework - for 3 hours, since yesterday evening.

● Ss are asked to think of time phrases that can be used for sentences T-SS
in each tense, and then compare again with the help of time S-SS
phrases.
● Pairs to compare:

Simple present vs. present continuous

Simple past vs. past continuous

Simple past vs. present perfect

Present perfect vs. present perfect continuous

practices together.

1.3 Post stage

● T gives a general sum up and corrective feedback.

1. Materials:
● Markers & PPT
● Handouts for practices - Copies of 10* ?(for TCP teachers?)
● The audios for 5A & 5B

2. Anticipated Problems & Suggested Solutions:

● Students’ might be confused about the adjectives in different forms.
○ T would need more contextualized examples for Ss to practice the use of
adjectives.

3. Contingency Plans (what you will do if you finish early? need to cut LP? etc.):
● Finish Early
○ Check Ss’ Verb Form Handout. Go over the pronunciation of the verbs here.
○ Since students are eager to know about the irregular verb change in tenses,
teachers have already prepared the Verb Form as extra practice.
● Finish Late
○ Cut the listening part B. & keep it for the next class.
