LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson students will be able to:
● Balloons
● Plastic combs
● Wool and fur cloth
● Slideshow
● Tissue paper
● Plastic spoon
● Straw
● Popsicle sticks
● Coin
● Paper clip
● Wood pencil
● Pen
● Aluminum Foil
● Plastic Wrap
Preparation:
● Gather materials such as balloons, combs, tissue paper, aluminum cans, and
other small objects that can be used to demonstrate static electricity.
● Prepare a presentation, including visual aids and videos, to introduce and
explain the concept of static electricity.
● Set up a demonstration station with appropriate tools, such as a Van de Graaff
generator or an electroscope, to illustrate the properties of static electricity.
● Create a handout or worksheet with questions or activities for students to
complete during or after the lesson.
● Consider safety issues related to handling electrical equipment or conducting
experiments, and prepare accordingly.
Logistics:
● Start the lesson with a brief introduction to static electricity, using the
presentation and visual aids to explain the concept and its properties.
● Demonstrate how static electricity works using the objects you have gathered
and the demonstration station. Allow students to interact with the objects and
see the effects of static electricity.
● Provide opportunities for students to conduct their own experiments with static
electricity using the materials provided, or have them observe and analyze
demonstrations conducted by the teacher.
● Guide students through the handout or worksheet, and encourage them to
discuss and share their findings with the class.
● Conclude the lesson with a summary of the key concepts covered and a brief
discussion of the real-world applications of static electricity.
● Provide clear instructions for cleaning up the materials and equipment used
during the lesson, and make sure all materials are returned to their proper
place.
