QUESTION 1.
Transmission of Information, idea, emotions, skills through the use of symbols, words
pictures, figures and graphs are called Communication.
Soft skills are critical for academic and professional success; they enable us to flourish in the
job, and their significance in the rising information or knowledge society cannot be
overstated. Soft skills are necessary for dealing with the external world and collaborating
with co-workers. Hard skills are technical knowledge or expertise acquired via any aspect of
life, including work or school.
The essential distinction between hard and soft skills is in how they are acquired and applied
in the job. Oftentimes, hard talents are acquired through schooling or specialised training.
They include skills such as how to operate a certain equipment, piece of software, or another
item. Soft talents are frequently viewed as personality characteristics that you may have spent
your entire life honing. They come in handy whether it comes to managing your time,
communicating with others, or confronting a challenging circumstance for the first time. In
other words, hard skills are your technical expertise, but soft skills are your general work
habits.
communication skills
listening skills
presentation skills
interpersonal skills
team skills
leadership skills
etiquette
cross-cultural skills
language skills
When revising or developing your resume, you may want to include a section titled "Skills"
that emphasises your most relevant talents for the employment. This is especially critical for
occupations requiring specialised technological expertise. Consider the job ad for which
you're applying for guidance on what to mention and prioritise in your skills section.
Employers may look for hard and soft skills in the "requirements," "education," or "desired
skills" parts of a job posting.
Both hard and soft talents are required for job success. Although individuals acquire and
develop these talents in unique ways, both hard and soft skills may be acquired and
developed prior to applying for jobs.
The development of soft talents is divided into two stages. The first portion focuses on
establishing attitudes and characteristics, while the second part focuses on honing
communication skills for expressing attitudes, ideas, and thoughts. For effective employment,
it is vital to integrate ideas and attitudes with adequate communication abilities in oral,
writing, and non-verbal sectors. Attitudes and abilities are inextricably linked to soft skills.
Each of them has an effect on and complements the other. On the other hand developing a
hard skill is simply practice and learning of the skill you want to acquire.
The most effective technique to demonstrate your hard and soft talents is to offer concrete
examples from your previous experiences that connect directly to the job criteria for which
you are interviewing. When narrating a tale, begin by setting the scene, describe the task at
hand, detail the steps you performed, and conclude with the outcome. This is referred to as
the STAR approach, and it is a suggested strategy for delivering structured examples that are
readily understood by your interviewers.
In conclusion we can say that to maintain a successful personality and a great career one must
have to keep a proper balance between the soft skills and their hard skills. Taking Jeff Bezos
as an example we can say that he does have the soft skills of knowing how to communicate
with people, how to address their grievances and also has the practical knowledge of the field
he is in, thus it can be stated that yes balancing hard skills and soft skills is a must.
