Ali called up his wife to tell her he had to work late.

expensive adjective: opposite of cheap
My car cost SR100,000. It was very expensive.

less/least determiner: a smaller number or amount
Tennis is less exciting than football.
Baseball is the least exciting sport.
local adjective: near; close; opposite of long-distance
Ahmed made a local call. He called Hafar Al Batin.
more/most determiner: a higher number or amount
Tennis is more exciting than baseball.
Football is the most exciting sport.
whom pronoun: used for people; object of preposition
To whom did you give it.
Whom did you give it to.
call noun: a conversation you began using the telephone
He received two calls today. One from Ali and the other from Ahmed.
change noun: coins
I have some change with me to make a phone call.
coin noun: round metal money
I have some coins with me to make a phone call.
conversation noun: people talking to each other
Ali and Ahmed had a telephone conversation last night.
factory noun: a place where people make things
BMW makes cars at their auto factory.
kind (of) noun: type
What kind of long distance call do you want to make, person-to-person
or station-to-station.
line (phone) noun: wire over which a telephone call is made

There’s a public phone at the restaurant. Call your wife from there.
slot noun: the place you deposit your coin on a pay phone
Deposit your coin in the slot before you push the buttons.

long distance expression: a call to a place far away
call A phone call from Hafar Al Batin to Riyadh is a long distance call.
person-to-person expression: a long distance call to a specific person
call Ahmed is making a person-to-person call. He only wants to talk to his
wife.
station-to-station expression: a long distance call to anyone at the number you call
call Ahmed is making a station-to-station call. He wants to talk to anyone
in his family.
