climb verb: to go up something


The baby climbed the stairs.
The man climbed the mountain.
The cat climbed the tree.
run verb: to move very fast on your feet
ran We’re late to class. Let’s run.
above adjective: over
The helicopter is flying above our house.
absent adjective: not here; not present
Ahmed is absent today. He’s sick.
around preposition: in a circle
The cat is walking around the tree.
back adjective: in the rear
The back door of the house is in the kitchen.
below preposition: under
The airplane is in the sky. The airport is below the airplane.
by preposition: next to; near
Ahmed’s desk is by the door.
front noun: opposite of rear
In my house, the living room is in the front, and the kitchen is in the rear.
high adjective:
In the morning, the sun is low. In the evening, the sun is high.
low adjective:
In the morning, the sun is low. In the evening, the sun is high.
next to preposition: beside
Ahmed sits next to Ali in English class.
over preposition: above
The airplane flew over our house.
past adjective: before the present
In English class we studied the past tense.
rear noun: opposite of front
The flowers are in the rear, not in the front of the house.
animal noun:
Cats, dogs, and birds are animals.
backyard noun: the land in back of a house
I grow flowers and vegetables in my backyard.
bird noun: an animal that flies
Birds fly.
cat noun: an animal
I have a dog and a cat.
dog noun: an animal
I have a dog and a cat.
earth noun: the world
We live on the earth.
fence noun
I have a fence around my yard.
flower noun: a beautiful plant
There are many flowers in my front yard.
front adjective: opposite of back or rear
My front yard has flowers. My back yard has grass.
garage noun: a place to put a car at your house
After I get home from work, I put the car in the garage.
gate noun: a door in a fence
Close the gate when you come into the yard.
grass noun:
I have beautiful green grass in my front yard.
hill noun: a small mountain
A mountain is taller than a hill.
land noun: earth; dirt; soil; opposite of water or sea
The moon has land but it doesn’t have water.
leaf / leaves noun:
Leaves fall from the trees in the autumn.
moon noun:
The moon travels around the earth.
past noun: at a time before now
In the past, I lived in Riyadh. Now I live in Hafar Al Batin.
present noun: at this time
At the present, I’m working in Riyadh.
adjective: here; opposite of absent
John was absent yesterday, but today he’s present.
rear adjective: opposite of front
I like to travel in the rear car on a train.
river noun: water that moves toward an ocean or sea
The Nile River moves from Kenya to Egypt.
roof noun:
The top of a house is called the roof.
star noun:
You can only see stars at night.
world noun:
The earth is also called the world.
yard noun: land around a house with grass or flowers
My house has a big yard. The children like to play in it.
