Course Title: Philippine Culture and Tourism Geography

Week 8
1. Write an essay about the importance of marketing as a tool in rebuilding
customer's trust in travelling back again in a specific destination in the
Philippines. Choose tourism destination that you have been already or an
attraction of your choice that you feel neededva boost in the tourism
industry. Cite concrete examples. Minimum of at least 300 words. (50 pts)

We all know that tourism marketing is the act of promoting services or products
to a consumer who is traveling outside of his or her typical area for a period of
less than a year for a reason other than employment. Indeed that customer
loyalty is really important thus, a huge amount of effort must be spent developing
brand awareness and developing continuing, linked campaigns that both target
past visitors and attract new ones. In tourism, the ultimate objective is to sell an
"experience" rather than a tangible commodity. The best way to market your
specific services, area, or products is to enhance your business on Social Media
platforms. Nowadays, many people are using Social Media and it is one of the
most efficient marketing platforms for the tourist business. Which is, if you select
the appropriate platform (where your clients are) and create a plan for each
platform. It helps raise awareness among consumers and residents of the
specific site which includes restaurants, hotels, attractions, and transportation.
Furthermore, A marketing strategy, as part of your company plan, also serves in
the creation and maintenance of demand, relevance, reputation, competition, and
so on.

For me, I would choose Manila Zoo. The importance of this place is not just only
to provide a critical haven for endangered species but also as a unique
environment to learn respectively from and about animals. This place also
provides conservation, education, and research projects that aim to preserve and
safeguard wild animal populations while also educating the public about the risks
they face. I can say that Zoos review research, preserve biodiversity (genetic and
species) that may be damaged or perhaps extinct in the wild, and offer critical
funding for research and conservation programs across the world. I chose this
because for me animal welfare is important since many animals suffer across the
world as a result of their usage for entertainment, food, medicine, fashion,
scientific development, and as exotic pets.
2. After watching the talk write an essay on the learnings we could use from this
talk. How can we use the same principles cited by the speaker in rebouncing
back tourism in the country. Minimum 300 words (50pts)
