2. a. Define ranging. Explain direct ranging with a neat sketch CO1 L1

b. Mention basic surveying instrument and explain any two of them

3. The following reading were observed with a levelling staff as follows: CO2 L2
2.5, 3.5,1.5, 3.9, 0.6, 1.2, 1.7, 0.8, 2.2, 3.1, 2.3 the instrument has
been moved after 3rd, 6th, and 9th reading. Determine RL of all the
points where 1st reading was taken on a bench mark of 250m.
