Module 1 Information

This module includes all materials to test no. 1: Sociology, Physics, Music Industry, Elements,
Medieval and Renaissance Music, Baroque Music, Classical Music, and Beethoven.

All quizzes and tests are on line. Quizzes and homework can be completed ahead of time.

There are four required quizzes: no. 1, due Sep 10 (ch.1-5); no. 2 listening, also due Sep 10
(ch.1-5); no. 3, due Sep 19 (ch 6-7); and no. 4 listening, also due Sep 19 (ch 6-7). They can be
submitted ahead of time.

Complete the Syllabus Quiz for extra credit! Due Sept 12.

The Independent Listening Logs are due on Sept 26, by 11 PM. Please use the drop box
marked "ILL Drop Box." Early submissions are welcome. DO NOT SUBMIT ATTACHMENTS.

The first Tests, on ch. 1-7, are on Oct. 8. They will be available at 12:00 AM, and remain
visible until 11:59 PM that day. You have one chance, and another in case you run into
technical issues. The test can be started and resumed later, as long as it is within the alloted
time. You cannot start and resume two hours later, for example. Once you start, the timer will keep
on going.

There is an optional concert, on Monday, Sep 23, @ 730 PM, in the Hewitt
Union: Lomax Quartet. Comp tickets are available. You can get extra credit points for
attending.
