1. The volume of a gas is 2.32 L at 1.45 atm pressure, at constant

temperature, what will be the volume if the pressure is changed to
4.87 atm?
Soln:

We know from Boyel’s law that if the amount of gas and temperature remain constant, then
the volume of gas is inversely proportional to volume of gas.

Given that,
Initial pressure of gas, P1 = 1.45 atm

Final pressure of gas, P2 = 4.87 atm
Let, Final volume of gas = V2

From, Boyel’s law,

Now,
