THE AUTHOR
Long ago, there was a man acquainted Mutteha, who was cook of a white man. In one certain
day the white man ordered the Mutteha so that could bring his wife in order to have a meal
together as a signal of good relationship. So, Mutteha brought his wife and the white man
ordered Mutteha so that he could prepare the meal according to his beliefs and culture and the
white man suggested that the table couldn’t contain cutleries. So, Mutteha told his boss that his
wife could eat using cutleries.
At time of meal, before they begin eating, Mutteha remembered that his wife could use
cutleries, so, he asked his boss by saying: Boss, allow me to pray before we begin eating! So, the
boss allowed him to do so, and Mutteha knelt on the floor and began saying: my wife, can you
see those two instruments that I put one on your right hand and another on your left one? The
one on your right hand is called fork and on your right one is spoon; so, you have to take the fork
on your left hand and spoon on your right one, as soon as you do so, then you begin sticking the
meat with the fork and cut using the spoon, after doing that, you must put on your mouth by
using always your left hand. Hoooooo my wife, here the food is distasteful because of those
instruments. Did you understand my wife? Amen! Said Mutteha. The boss answered: Hooooo
we can eat with hands as well, amen! Mutteha when heard his boss so, he stood up ashamed,
because he did not realize his boss could hear and speak his dialect.
