"Creative writing is considered to be any writing, fiction, or non-fiction that goes outside the

bounds of normal professional, journalistic, academic, and fictional forms of literature. "

Creative writing is an expressive form of literature, in which creativity and imagination is best
used to create a story, poem, etc. Fiction and non-fiction are form of writings that are part of creative
writing. Fiction refers to plot, settings, and characters that are created from pure imagination of the
writer, on the other hand non-fiction are those stories that are based on real people and true events. This
essay will discuss what is creative writing and everything that lies under creative writing.

Creative writing is any writing that aims to portray ideas, emotions, or other human experiences
rather than merely facts. In addition, there are a lot of reasons why we create or why we write creatively.
First, we write because we want to communicate and extend our ideas, of course we want to write
because we want other people to read and know our thoughts and ideas about things, we want them to
reach their thoughts through writing. Second, we write because we want to keep diaries through writing,
aside from taking pictures to keep our memories and special events in our life we also want to keep
those memories preserve through writing, because we don’t want to just put pictures without context to
what happened in it, right? Third, we right because we want o develop our talents, we know that even
though we know how to write that’s just not enough, we want to practice and develop the writing skills
and the talent that we have to write more pieces. Fourth, we write because we want to write for the
records, those piece of documents and information that we write are probably for keeps for academic
purposes, we record those preserve culture, religion, tradition, etc. that will be seen by other people in
the present and for the next generations. Last, we write because it is our profession, we write because it
is what we want and we want to maximize what we know in writing by making it as our profession.

An example for writing as a diary is the famous book series turns into television series The
Vampire Diaries, the story centers on Elena Gilbert, a young, beautiful high school girl who finds
herself eventually torn between two Italian brothers, Stefan and Damon Salvatore, who are centuries old
vampires. Aside from that, we also have books that records what happened form the past, “The Conjugal
Dictatorship” (1967) by Primitivo Mijares, the book will give us the glimpse of into the events that
structured and led up to the decreeing of martial law. This book, and its close-up view of the actions of
Marcos, serves as a constant reminder that the Marcos administration was extremely corrupt.
This just proves that world of creative writing is really vast. We write because we want to write,
we write because we want to connect with other people, we write because we want to share information
to other people. In creative writing, we may have different reasons in writing but we will also have
different ways to express and write creatively. We go beyond our limitations and imagination write
create masterpiece.

Therefore, creative writing is not just about writing creatively, rather it is more than creatively.
Through creative writing we can discuss and share what happened to us or to our surroundings, making
other people be aware of what is happening on the other side of the globe. With a piece of paper and pen
we can also be heard and make changes around us. Thus, creative writing does not only rely on the
normal writing that we know, it doesn’t only stop as a formal piece of writing that is needed to be pass
on the teacher. It is not just a typical fiction and nonfiction writing. Moreover, it is not just a piece of
paper with scribbles of letter in it.
