CHAPTER III

Research Design and Methodology

This chapter present the detailed description of

the research design, the respondents of the study, data
gathering instrument used and the process of the data
gathered.

Research Design
The research design used the statistics information
to see if dependent variables relating to parental
influence, deer influence, and environment. The
control group consisted of subject-based students
intending to graduate within the year. Internal
validity was not guaranteed, however. The
subjects surveyed were unaffected by
environmental qualities that may skew results. The
external validity in general terms was applicable to
other seniors of similar school populations.

Respondents of the study

The Respondents of the study will be the Grade 10
students of the Junior High School students in Guijalo
National High School.

Data Gathering
Phase I. Preparation Phase
After the approval of the research proposal, a
letter or request to conduct the study addressed to the
school head of Guijalo National High School was
prepared.
The researchers gathered other related literature
and studies as a basis in formulating the survey
questionnaire. The researcher sought the help of the
experts in order to face content validate the researcher-
made survey questionnaire.
Revision were made after validation.

Phase II. Conduct of the study

As soon as the researcher made a survey
questionnaires ready, it was distributed by the
researchers themselves. After the data has been
gathered, the responses were tallied.

Phase III. Analysis and Interpretation of Data

Analysis and interpretation of data. The result of
the responses of the survey questionnaire were
analyzed and interpreted to know what is the struggles
of Grade 10 students.
Phase IV. Preparation/Writing of the
Manuscript
After all the procedures has been followed, the
manuscript were prepared and written subjects for
changes as per given recommendations.

Data Gathering Instrument

The researcher used the following instrument in
order as a survey form.
It was used to identify the; 1.Profile of the respondents
2. Challenges that student encountered during the
selection of strands 3. Factors and considerations in
choosing the strand.

Mode: mode is the observation that occurs frequently

in the data, it is used in the study to describe the profile
of the respondents of the study.
Mean: The sum of all qualities observed divided by the
total number of units considered. It is used in the study
to describe the average number of the respondents
who favourably in the studyas basis forgetting the
standard deviation of the tallied results.

PERCENTAGE TECHNIQUE- Percent simply means``

per hundred’’ and the symbol used to express
percentage is %. One percent ( or 1%) is one hundredth
of the total or whole and is therefore calculated by
dividing the total or whole number by 100.

weighted mean: The weighted arithmetic mean is

similar to an ordinary arithmetic mean, except that
instead of each of the data points contributing equally
to the final average, sone data points contribute more
than others.
