Cultural awareness

Like a fish out of water: A fish doesn’t know what water is - until the water is suddenly isn’t there anymore.
Likewise, we often take the culture we grow up with for granted – customs, body language, how people
interact in everyday situations – and don’t really notice it while it surrounds us. As a result, experiencing
different cultures can open your eyes to aspects of our own culture and also give us insight into ways
other people behave.
