Activity
1.To start off this activity, I will physically provide each table of students with one
of each coin and we will discuss them and their values as a class. We will also add
up coins together in small groups before fully starting this activity.
2.The interactive activity will begin with students sitting on the floor in front of the
board. As a class we will go over the poem that is presented on the second slide of
the activity I found in class flow that helps students memorize the name of each
coin and what each coin looks like in order to ensure the students have a deep
understanding.
3.We will then go over slides 3-6 and make sure that the students are able to
identify what each coin amounts too, this will all be done as a class.
This IWB activity helps to cover the information is SOL 1.8 because it allows for
students to memorize coins and their values as well as provides students with the

opportunity to add coins together with the support of their teacher and fellow
classmates. This activity will prepare students for having to count up coins whose
value is 100 cents or less on their SOL.
