1. What technology-related skills every educator should have?

The necessity to advance technological know-how became apparent during the

COVID-19 outbreak. This achievement was obvious, with school being the ideal setting
from primary to secondary and transition from secondary to higher education. The
pandemic has had a significant effect by demonstrating the value of technological
proficiency and role to play by HEIs (Higher Education Institutions) in providing quality
education and contribute to their student’s progress.
Online learning replaced in-person lectures in a flash. The crisis, however, makes
people reevaluate the worth of a university degree, which offers not just academic
knowledge but also networking and social chances. Universities redesign their learning
environments and encourage the improvement of students and teachers' technical
proficiency.
In light of this, the following are some of the technological abilities every
educator ought to possess; 1) know how to search the web effectively, 2) practice good
online safety & security, 3) be a wiz at Microsoft Office, and 4) Use multimedia content
to engage and stimulate students. With computer and related technologies constantly
changing and improving, educators must maintain a commitment to excel in their job.
These days, that means putting forth constant effort to maintain and advance their
technological skills.
However, by asserting that all instructors must possess these technological
teaching skills, one is placing new demands and duties on the teaching profession.
Nevertheless, there is a shortage of simple tools for evaluating these teaching abilities and
determining whether or not teachers are ready to fulfill the demands and new
requirements. It has been said that teachers are the ultimate change agents who must
pursue lifelong learning if they are to successfully integrate digital technologies into their
classrooms.

2. Why are these skills important to classroom instruction?

Technology brings about fundamental structural changes that can play a crucial
role in generating considerable productivity gains. Technology is being used to enhance

teaching and learning in classrooms. It expands course options, experiences, and learning
resources; supports learning twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week; develops 21st
century skills; boosts student engagement and motivation; and speeds learning.
Technology can also revolutionize education by bringing about a new linked teaching
paradigm. With the use of this paradigm, teachers may enhance their own instruction and
tailor learning while also having access to professional content, tools, and systems.
Technology is crucial to us both as students and teachers. For instance, you can search
the internet while at home while working on an assignment rather than travelling to the
library to discover some references that are relevant to your topic. In the classroom today,
kids used additional gadgets including computers, smartphones, and others. Schools must
therefore adapt to how kids learn best and change along with them. As we are all aware,
technology is taking over more and more classrooms. Our notebook computers have been
replaced by tablets and laptops, and we can search anything on our cellphones. We can
use power point presentations to present our efforts. Making maps, diagrams, and other
visual aids won't ever be a waste of your time. Technology, in the opinion of teachers,
has a significant and advantageous impact on our educational system. The way that
students and teachers are taught nowadays as a result of technology is entirely different.
Teachers are taught how to instruct utilizing contemporary technology, including tablets,
iPads, Smart Boards, digital cameras, and PCs. Modern equipment and advanced
technology are often used in classrooms to enhance learning. The students benefit by
learning more and having easier coursework. Because of the technology that assist them
in accomplishing it, it also allows teachers and students to become more creative while
creating their report, presentation, projects, or assignments. It helps the teacher make
their lessons more enjoyable and understandable. With all of these new technology
advancements in education, students and teachers now have access to a much wider range
of resources than they did in the past. Minimal work and little time are needed to
complete the research. When writing a paper, working on a project, or simply gathering
information, the internet is a useful tool. You can now have 10 times more information
available at your fingertips in your own house, saving you time from spending hours in
the library. Teachers in modern classrooms can use online tools to gain a deeper
understanding of their lessons.
