Mr Asela Serasingha, completed his Attorney at Law final examination with a “First Class
Honours” in the year 2005 and enrolled as an Attorney at Law of the Supreme Court of Sri
Lanka in 2006.He was attached to Attorney Generals Department as a State Counsel from
2007 to 2017 in the Criminal Division. Currently, he is practicing as a criminal lawyer in
Colombo.

He is also a recipient of the Prestigious Australia Awards Scholarship Program (administered


by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Government of Australia) in 2014 and
completed the LL.M at the University of Sydney, Australia. He also holds a post graduate
diploma in “Forensic Medicine and Science” from the University of Colombo.

2.Ms. Nisali Pieris completed her Attorney at Law final examination in 2021.She holds a
LL.B from University of Warwick, United Kingdom and was called to the bar of England and
Wales in 2020.She had gained extensive research experience during her undergraduate
studies at the university of Warwick.

3.Ms. Poornima Ranawaka is an Attorney at Law with more than 15 years of experience in
the bar. She also possesses 17 years of banking and finance experience. She had worked in
private and international banks in Sri Lanka and has vast experience in handling Litigation,
Compliance, Human Resources and recoveries. Ms. Poornima Ranawaka also served as
president and executive member of “Association of Compliance Officers of Banks” for
several years. She obtained a “First Class Honours” from Sri Lanka Law College for the
Attorney at Law final exam and holds a LL.M. on international trade law from the University
of Wales, UK.

She is an Associate member of International Compliance Association, UK and holds a post


graduate diploma in international compliance from University of Manchster, UK.Ms.
Ranawaka is also a “Certified Management Accountant” in Australia and currently reading
for a PhD in the Management and Science University, Malaysia. Ms. Ranawaka is currently
serving as a visiting academic in Sri Lanka Law College.

4. Dr. Gehan Gunatilleke is an attorney-at-law and a founding partner at LexAG, a law firm
based in Colombo, Sri Lanka. He is a Junior Research Fellow at Pembroke College,
University of Oxford, and an Early Career Fellow at the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights,
University of Oxford. He is also a visiting lecturer at the Centre for the Study of Human
Rights, University of Colombo, and a tutor at Worcester College, University of Oxford.

Gehan is the author of several publications including The Chronic and the Entrenched:
Ethno-religious Violence in Sri Lanka (2018). He has taught undergraduate and post-graduate
courses on human rights, democratisation, and development offered by the University of
Colombo, University of Sydney, and the Open University of Sri Lanka.

Gehan completed his DPhil in Law at St Catherine's College, University of Oxford. Prior to
commencing his doctorate, he received a Commonwealth Scholarship in 2015 to read for a
Master’s in International Human Rights Law at New College, University of Oxford. He was
also a Fulbright Scholar at Harvard Law School, where he completed an LL.M. in 2010.

5. Mr Ishan Rathnapala is a State Counsel attached to the Attorney General’s Department of


Sri Lanka. Mr Rathnapala has extensive Court experience in both original and appellate
Courts in Sri Lanka representing the Government of Sri Lanka, semi-
Government Institutions and corporate entities. He has specialized knowledge in arbitration
and has many appearances before International Arbitrations. His publications and research
interests are int the fields of Law relating to Information Communication Technology, Global
Commercial Contract Law and Energy Regulations. Mr Rathnapala has excelled the field of
Disaster Law through his LL.M pursued at the University of Melbourne (Australia). He has a
LL.M and a Master of Arts in International Relations from the University of Colombo. He
has worked as a Sessional Academic at the School of Law at Deakin University, Australia.
