III. Project Rationale:
LEEP is a training program designed to enable school heads and teachers operationalize and contextualize K to
12 concepts in classroom activities using enhanced and evidence-based pedagogies and Knowledge Channel
educational media technology and DepEd Division LRMDS resources for effective learning.
Having been attended and actively participated on the said division seminar, the undersigned would like to
cascade the knowledge and information re the LEEP program to 170 teachers of Sta. Lucia High School, Pasig
City through the school-based in-service training.
The school head, being an instructional leader and administrative manager believed that the skills and craft of
SLHS teachers would be enhanced and the delivery of quality instruction inside the classroom would be
improved and transformational. The paradigm shift of teachers from traditional into emerging one would also
be realized after the training program.
IV. Project Objectives:
At the end of the training, the teachers should be able to;
1. define Constructivism and the Learner-Centered Classroom philosophy and principles;
2. identify emerging pedagogies that the teachers will implement as facilitators of learning;
3. know how to evaluate learning outcomes at the diagnostic, formative, and summative stages;
4. identify resources and technologies or multi-media supplements, for example KC resources, to enrich
teaching and learning;
5. contextualize some of the standard content in the K to 12 curriculum, and apply authentic learning;
6. share their best practices in relation to learner-centered teaching approaches;
7. demonstrate a constructivist approach to enrich the lesson;
8. demonstrate the development of critical thinking using the revised Bloom’s Taxonomy;
9. indicate willingness and interest to pursue the emerging shift in teaching and learning, particularly those that
promote Constructivism in learner-centered classroom environment.
