The Vision and Mission statements are very popular and important, they can
best be described as a compass and destination of a school respectively. Thus every
school should develop a clear and ethical vision and mission, for a clear direction as
the students pursue their courses in achieving their goals. A mission statement is a
public declaration that schools use to describe their founding purpose, its aims and
commitments. It also may describe a school’s day to day objectives and instructional
values to its students and community.it is also a public declaration of the school to
describe their high level goals for the future and towering ideals.

In the major philosophies, the Idealism philosophy of Plato says that the school
trains future leaders, maintains and transmits values, and places emphasis on
developing the mind, personal discipline and character development. We can see this
in the VMGO of the school of the school particularly in the Mission where it says that
it shall produce globally competitive leaders and learners to compete with the outside
world.

The school supports the Progressivism philosophy where it says that education
is always in the process of development. It focuses on the whole child cultivation of
individuality. We can see in one of the Goals and Objectives of the college VMGO that
the goal is to attain and sustain quality and excellence. Also, it was stated in the
mission that it shall produce globally competitive leaders.

The philosophy Perennialism is object-centered and advocates that education

should be the same for all students. In the college VMGO, it promotes an inclusive
education that highlights the notion that no one should be left behind. Also, we can
see Reconstructionism as it emphasizes addressing of social question and is a quest to
create a better society. We can see this philosophy in the Mission statement of the
college.
