Question 1: What recommendations can you make to the management of a company competing in a
rapid growth market to help it identify new competitive threats early enough so that counter
strategies can be developed?

A company competing in a rapid-growth market needs to be primarily concerned about


building its research and development capabilities. Aligning R&D strategy on your specific
company’s goals and objectives provides a powerful avenue for identifying future
opportunities. The company also needs a strategy that will boost its market share and
improve its competitive standing. I would also suggest that the company have to identify
threats from its competitors who produce same types of product.

Question 2: Effectively implemented, a good segmentation strategy creates an important


competitive edge for an organization.

Situation: If you will be assigned by your Boss that is planning to offer a Hotel Lodging Services,
identify what market segment you will serve and give example/s on how will you attract these
types of segments.

In terms of Hotel Lodging Services, I need to identify first my target market which is based
on behavioral patterns and price sensitivity. I need to identify my clients’ attitude towards
specific lodging segment. This will help me identify which marketing methods work for
which customers. To better serve this specific segment, we need to create customized
marketing campaigns that will resonate with each segment you are aiming to attract. This
will be done thru social media campaigns or by means of digital ads, as this is now the
trends with regard to marketing.
