Proposal reflection

When I started doing the proposal I did not realize the difference it would make when
doing the storyboard. I found the psychology behind certain aspects such as the color
theory of text and the impact of using a bright background with clashing colors on the
user very fascinating. Until you have the opportunity yourself to create an OER you do
not realise the thought and theory that goes into the design specifications when creating
an online educational resource.

The storyboard proposal was a very useful tool to complete before starting the
storyboard. Having the literature and other information to refer to when deciding what
fonts, colour etc to use in the storyboard allowed for the creation of a usable and
accessable OER. Using the proposal and having the storyboard planned out in terms of
design and specification before creating the storyboard reduced the time it took to make
the storyboard as I just needed to refer to the proposal. Having the literature to bakup
design decisions ensured the storyboard was readable for users.

Completing the proposal and having the storyboard planned out before even starting the
actual design process showed how useful planning is. When completing other
assigments I usually never planned them, I would just jump straigh into writing and as I
write decide what to discuss. The proposal has made me reflect on my other
assignments and realize that it would make the process quicker if I pre planned the
content.
