The lesson that I’ve learned in life

and story of Rizal in Chapter 13, Rizal in Japan. () At this time, Rizal reached
Yokohama in Japan checking in a grand Hotel, it was February 28,1888. Juan Perez
Caballero, secretary of the Spanish legation invited him to live at the Spanish legation.
He accepted the invitation for two reasons. First is that he could economize his living
expenses by staying at the legation and second he had nothing to hide from the prying
eyes of the Spanish authorities. The next day he proceeded to Tokyo. Rizal was
impressed by the beauty of their country having clean and polite people and simple
women who dress modesty. There he met his fifth romance, a few days after he had
moved to the Spanish Legation, Rizal saw a pretty Japanese girl walking at the gate of
Legation. Rizal was attracted by her regal loveliness and charm. He asked more
information about the Japanese girl he saw to the legation employees and known her
name as Seiko Usui or also known as O-Sei-San. A native of Japan. She had an
intimate relationship with Jose Rizal during Rizal’s vacation on Yokohama. She was 23
years old when she met Rizal. Her former status as a daughter of samurai gave her an
address's of "O Sei San"and "The Honorable Miss Sei". Rizal saw in lovely O-Sei-San
the qualities of his ideal womanhood beauty, charm, modesty, and intelligence. No
wonder he fell deeply in love with her. O-Sei-San reciprocated his affection, for it was
the first time her heart palpitated with joys to see a man of gallantry, dignity, courtesy,
and versatile talents. Rizal almost decided to settle down in Japan because of his
feelings growing to O-Sei-San and because he was offered a good job at the Spanish
Legation a legation was a diplomatic representative office of lower rank than an
embassy. Where an embassy was headed by an ambassador, a legation was headed
by a minister. Ambassadors outranked ministers and had precedence at official events.
