NEED OF HIGH-RISE DEVELOPMENT IN THE INDIAN CITIES

Students Name (HARSHANK SINGH)
Apeejay School of architecture and planning, Greater Noida

Keywords: Need, high-rise, development, india

Operational Definition: Need- we need high rise building with rising population density.

High-rise- we need high rise–building due to scarcity of land as well tall building are built out of necessity as
one of the wide range of tool achieve high density population. Not only this full security, safety and health.

Development- Constructions of high rises a building provides the comfort living standard for the people and
also help in the planning of the cities.

India- The most of the people are interested to stay in the high rise building where they can have a full
security, safety and health. To fulfilled the need of the people and also for the planning of the cities the
construction of the high-rise building is going rapidly in India.

Introduction: First to apply scientific knowledge for the construction of building were the ancient Egyptians.
Not only did their architects use geometry and astronomy to plan the pyramids, but also they had to
understand and apply much natural-science knowledge about the properties of materials to design the huge
yet precisely constructed tombs that include intricate rooms and passageways. So sophisticated were their
calculations that the Great Pyramid not only remains the largest stone building in the world after 4,000 years,
but also was built so accurately that the opposite corners of its foundation, some 324 meters apart, are only 2
cm different in elevation. Later, the architects of the great gothic cathedrals of Europe so well understood
advanced principles of construction that modern engineers sometimes marvel at, or are even baffled by, their
architectural feats. Finally, of course, modern architectural science is full of advances that ancient and
medieval architects probably could not imagine, given modern materials, computers and construction
technology. Housing is one of the basic needs for everyone, as in 20th century due to land scarcity people need
shelter to live and to stay in the high rise building where they can have a full security, safety and health. As a
housing is crucial in providing resident conductive and secure indoor environment, the performance of housing
needs to be explored in understanding the user needs, now a days tall building throughout the world are
becoming popular day by day with the advent of technology. Benefits it includes- creates a unique skyline and

efficient land use, togetherness among the people, create unity in diversity among people.
Hypothesis :

1. High -rise building play an important role for a development of a country india.
2. high rise building gives public satisfaction!!!

Research Questions:

1. why we need high rise building?

2. Is high rise building play a vital role in developing a country india?
3. High rise building helping india economics or not?

Aim: aim is to satisfy the physical, social and aesthetic needs of society in terms of security, safety and health
in high-rise building.

Objectives:
1. promote outstanding, sustainable design.
2. contribute to high quality places where people want to live and spend their time.
3. Provide good qualities of facilities in society in terms of security, safety and health.

Need and Scope of the study: As the population of india increasing rapidly day by day as a result land scarcity
is more so people need shelter for their living and for a comfort level in terms of security, health and safety.
Architect and planners take pride in serving in all these cities hence becoming most trusted high rise building
design and architecture service provider in India. With the increasing population it becomes vital for the cities
to facilitate the residents with more education, health and entertainment facilities. Its main scope is to
understand the human needs in terms of population growth for their survival for living standards in a small
proportion of land.

Limitation:

The overall objective of my research paper was to explore and learn about the needs of high rise building in
India but the study of my research paper is mainly focus on the needs of high rise building in Delhi, NCR region
only& which can give me a deep study of a particular place.
