Definition of Social Inequality

Social inequality occurs when resources in each society are distributed unevenly, typically
through norms of allocation, that engender specific patterns along lines of socially defined
categories of persons. (Wikipedia)
Social Inequality is a relational process in society that have the effect of limiting or harming a
group's social status, social class, and social circle.
Social inequality exists when people frequently receive more of a society’s ‘valuable goods’ than
others owing to their position in the social network of relationships. (Hradil 2001:30)
Social inequality is the existence of unequal opportunities and rewards for different social
positions or statuses within a group or society.
