What I researched about the current sustainability

What have I learned about sustainable tourism?
For someone who wants to live a life beyond the
normal and learn useful skills in the process, a degree
in tourism management is the ideal access point. You
only need to have a passion for seeing new places, be
well-organized, and enjoy interacting with others.
One of the most rapidly expanding job sectors
worldwide is the tourist and hospitality sector. To
assist tourist businesses in overcoming recruiting,
retention, and skill gaps, the government has
introduced the Tourism Employment Plan Guide and a
new Tourism Employment Plan Advisory Service in
several nations. Students in tourist management
might find a lot of employment opportunities.
Students who pursue a degree in tourism
management learn about business administration,
marketing principles, human resources, project
management, sustainability, cross-cultural sensitivity,
and much more. The information and skills learned in
the curriculum are crucial and helpful for a wide range
of vocations. I learned about sustainable tourism and
how I can lessen the damaging effects of travel on the
environment as a student. Every year, more and more
people travel, therefore it's critical to comprehend
the effects this has on communities, cultures, and the
environment. By giving economic advantages to
underdeveloped regions and preserving the
prosperity of tourist hotspots, tourism has the
capacity to improve the globe. I learned how tourism
affects the world's environmental, economic, and
cultural problems throughout this course. As we
examine the laws and management plans in place to
limit the effects of tourism, I also learnt about the

CURRENT SUSTAINABILITY ISSUES IN THE
PHILIPPINES:
• The Philippines is in a climate-vulnerable area.
Each year, there are 20 typhoons nearby.

• We have some great laws about
environmental protection, saying you are not
supposed to build in marine protected areas
or forest areas – but these are only on paper,
or they are not implemented properly.
• There have been several trainings and
conferences regarding sustainable tourism
held across the world, but they haven't
reached the host communities. Local
administrations are clueless. In the
Philippines, everything revolves around
political interests and trying to accomplish the
most within a leader's three or six-year term.
Naturally, this calls for rapid tourism
development. They therefore arrive, create,
and then demolish, all for their own short-
term gain.
• The tourist industry is expanding
astronomically, but the expansion is not long-
term. Business owners, such as those of
hotels and resorts, are ignorant of
sustainability, environmental conservation,
and the reasons for their importance.

their natural beaches, climate change has a
negative impact on the infrastructure
supporting tourism.
SUSTAINABILITY PROBLEMS:
• The strategy should be to educate the people,
to enhance the knowledge of destination
managers, and the local governments
because they are the ones who give all the
business permits.
• Destinations, hotel resorts, and tour
operators are the three groups at work. Then
there are the destination managers, who
represent the public. To ensure that the
information reaches individuals who deal with
tourism in real life and make choices on a
regular basis, the strategy is to teach the
trainers.
• Government involvement in the growth of
tourism is essential; as the industry develops,
regional and national government
participation in the planning phase becomes
crucial. The political climate, which has a
significant impact on destination
development, must be taken into
consideration while discussing tourism.
• Inform the locals about the importance of
natural resources to tourism and
development in every location and provide
them the skills and information they need to
manage them.
