1 What could have caused the outcry for the cancellation of Nickelodeon’s underwater-themed
resortproject?
Nickelodeon's underwater-themed project sparked controversy when a petition was filed
against its completion. Because of the region's wealth in natural resources and biodiversity, several
environmental organizations have encountered resistance for safety reasons.

2. What possible problems would the resort have caused to the environment if it were
continued andallowed to operate?
It is extremely likely that this ecosystem won't be able to maintain itself in the future because
building its foundation needed a lot of technology, which disturbed the area and changed its
geographical features. Several changes will take place if it is allowed to continue running, creating
several issues, and raising numerous concerns about pollution and inconvenience. The beauty of our
natural resources won't be maintained, our protected areas won't be kept, and finally, technology
innovation will control the world. While technological breakthroughs are amazing, given the context,
they have such adverse repercussions.

3. What possible alternatives could have been proposed to develop tourism in Coron?
There are several methods to advertise and promote the amazing island of Coron, including
through social media. However, it needs government support to sustain its maintenance and other
needs, so that there is no need to build sophisticated but harmful infrastructure just to make money.
Additionally, improving the area's appearance and launching new enhancement initiatives can help
Coron's tourist industry grow and appeal to more potential visitors. Coron brings in money without
harming our protected areas, promoting tourism in the Philippines.
