STQM411: TASK 1

BSToM 4YA-1s SEPT. 5, 2022

1. Look for a Tourism specific case/company/destination that you think has multiple
layers of problem and indicate all the problems that you can see.

• The Hinulugang Taktak in Antipolo, Rizal, becomes a location I am aware of

something like this I believe has different layers of problems. The individuals have
always been amazed and filled with satisfaction by Hinulugang Taktak. On the
contrary, it appears that perhaps the locals are informed of just what Taktak Falls
has really become into and disagree with the idea that the environment has already
been exhausted. The aforementioned attraction has suffered terribly as a result of
the environment's long-term degradation of its previous splendor. Around 2014, the
Hinulugang Taktak had undergone reconstruction in order to enhance the
cleanliness of its waters; by 2015, the waterfalls had been released publicly. The
essential elements of the several levels of issues I observed inside the
aforementioned location are listed below.

a) Still not fully recovered - Tourists claim that the waterfalls do have a lot
of trash in there, which makes the water smell terrible. Although the area
around the falls is clear, I don't believe the falls on their own are yet ready
to accept tourists as it still contains air and water contamination that really
is exceedingly dangerous to the tourists' safety.

b) Incorrectly implemented product development - I think they made errors

when developing the area's products, specifically when building a public
pool inside the Waterfalls Attraction. Perhaps they could create additional
leisure that is suited to this type of location, such as people who rent bikes
so that visitors could indeed appreciate the campground and the fall,
installing an excursion, leasing tents for campers who would like to
experience accommodation, or building an entertainment venue for special
occasions. To be more specific, the Waterfall Resort required several
different types of issues in relation to some of what they accomplished.
Since the public pool is no longer necessary if it has been totally restored,
individuals may swim in the waterfalls.

c) Lower Opportunity for Employment for Residents Close to the Venue

- Individuals who live close to the tourist site have a lot of employment
options, but these chances are not well-known. Obviously, there's going to
be more income if the region attracts tourists since the more income there's
really, the further people do find work. It has lower chances for travelers
and limited options to connect out to the locals who are still alive enough
labor, though, as a result of its constraints, poor design, and development.

3. Create a swot analysis of the Tourism specific case/company/destination

• Strengths

Numerous advantages of the neighborhood have been emphasized; they fall under
the categories of accessibility, local aspect, attractiveness, and sustainability.
Among the particular advantages listed were:

a) Accessibility
It is freely reachable by road, with a wide variety of fairly cheap ways to
select from, and a close location to Pasig City and Taytay Rizal. Civic
engagement and community organizations are strong. In addition,
Hinulugang Taktak is responsible for a populated place, housing
developments, and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.

b) Sustainability

Wonderful place to live, vacation, and explore; peaceful neighborhood;

leisure; accessibility to various modes of transportation.

c) Attractiveness

When it was established in the Philippines as a National Historical Shrine

in 1990 as well as a conserved environment in 2000. A variety of travelers
from throughout the world also are familiar with Hinulugang Taktak.

and land use and growth. This would include, particularly:

e) Threats posed by humankind impacts on the environment

4. Justify how did you end up choosing it.

• I visited the Hinulugang Taktak in the years previous to the Pandemic. I had been
very let down by what I'd seen of the place, which really is unlively; that waterfalls
in particular have a dreadful water odor, among other things. So many possibilities
lead to possibilities, which alter that destiny according to what it ought to be. The
preservation of a high level of well-being and the avoidance of pollution's
detrimental effects relies upon natural tourism sites. Furthermore, as someone who
was born and raised in Rizal and is currently studying tourism, I have personally
seen how this might help the locals there, the economic growth, as well as nature.
Because of our negligence as Environmental Keepers, the Waterfalls terminated the
way they did, however, there is a solution. We should remember everything
described as well before the situation deteriorates and there isn't any way to escape
from this place. I've incredibly allowed myself another chance to do this kind of
activity, which now has spurred me into action.
