Chapter 13 Activity
(10 points)

Locate and view a video dealing with teaching children about sex. Such a video can
be obtained from the Sexuality Education and Information Council of the United
States (SEICUS) website, Planned Parenthood, YouTube, and/or other organization.
Following the video discuss your reactions to the video. Do you agree or disagree
with the content of the video?

Amaze.org has a plethora of Sexuality Education covering topics of healthy

relationships, which include sexual relationships, STDs and HIV, Personal Safety,
which includes sexual harassment prevention and awareness, pregnancy and
reproduction, gender identity, and sexual orientation. I would show a variety of
several videos from this website as they simplified and broken the videos to make it
easy for young adults learning and those teaching sexual education.

The video I chose specifically from the amaze.org website teaches students about
saying yes or no to sex and what consent looks like for sex. Throughout this video it
gives several examples of what saying no means and how to go about it in an
appropriate way. It also gives several examples of what saying yes means and how
and when it may be appropriate to say yes. Lastly the video ensures that it teaches
appropriate ways to consent to sex. I specifically chose this video to discuss out of
all of them because many teenagers do not understand the importance of consent
for sexual behaviors that include a large variety such as kissing, oral sex, anal sex,
and vaginal sex. By having this discussion, it can help prevent and create awareness
for possible sexual abuse and assault.
