Blended Learning Lesson Plan

Lesson Title:
Measuring: With What?
Objectives:
- Students will be able to identify which measuring tool should be used in certain
situations.
- Students will be able to use the correct measuring tool
State Standards:
2.MDA.1 Select and use appropriate tools (e.g., rulers yardsticks, meter sticks, measuring tapes)
to measure the length of an object
Context:
This lesson will be the beginning of a unit for a second-grade math class. After this lesson
students will learn how to estimate length/distance, measure to see how much longer one object
is than another, and compare different measurements.
Data:
For most of the lesson students will be in a whole group but may split off into groups for
activities. When they are in groups, we will be playing a game so I will use the scores from the
game to see if the groups worked
