Procedure:
Connect the dipole antenna to the tripod 8 set the transmitter frequency to 600 MHz and
attenuator downward to avoid receiver saturation. Set the length of the antenna to \ 2 – 5 % or 24
cm end to end. Keep the antenna in horizontal direction.
Now, connect another dipole antenna to the stopper pod and se the receiver to 600 MHz set the
attenuator upward for maximum sensitivity. Adjust the dipole for resonance at 600 MHz.
Set the distance between the antenna to be around 1 nm. Remove any stray object from around
the antenna especially in the live of signal. Avoid any unnecessary movement while taking the
reading.
Now rotate the dipole antenna around its axis in steps of 0° using stopper motor controller. Take
the level readings of receiver at each step & note down.
Note the maximum reading out of the whole set of readings this will from the 0db using stepper
motor controller. Take the level reading of receiver at each step and note down.
Plot the reading on a polar or continues plane with log / linear sketch on the graph papers
provided at the back of the manual.
This plot with both the dipoles in horizontal plane shall form on E plane.
