READY TO OBEY GOD

commands, orders, instructions of

• is the act or practice of being
obedient
 Jeremiah 7:23

23 butI gave them this command: Obey me,

and I will be your God and you will be my
people. Walk in obedience to all I command
you, that it may go well with you.
 1 Peter 13:21
21 So
then prepare your hearts and minds for
action!
Stay alert and fix your hope firmly on the
marvelous grace that is coming to you.
For when Jesus Christ is unveiled, greater
measure of grace will be released to you.
 What must we do to be
ready?
We must;

1. Remember
always that God will hold us
responsible for our conduct in life.
 1 Peter 1:17
17 Sinceyou call in Him as your heavenly
Father, the impartial judge who judges
according to each one’s works. Live each
day with holy awe and reverence
throughout your time on earth.
 1 Peter 1:17
You call out
to God for help and he helps –
he’s a good Father that way.
BUT DON’T FORGET, HE’S ALSO A
RESPONSIBLE FATHER, and won’t let get
by a sloppy living
 Why would God hold us responsible?
1. He will never reveal anything to us and not expect us to do
it.
2. The world will not become better without action on
our part as God’s people who are supposed to be salt
and light of this world.
3. It is because of the price God paid so you can be free
to be what He wants you to be. (1peter 1:18-19)
 What must we do to be ready?

2. We must install a sense of urgency.

 How should we do this?

1. Byembracing the fact that NOW is the perfect time. (2

Corinthians 6:2)

“ now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of

salvation.
 How should we do this?

2. By addressing squarely the problem of procrastination,

knowing that time is not on our side.

Psalm 90: 12 Teach us to number our days and recognize

how few they are; help us to spend them as we should.
 How should we do this?
Ephesians 5:15-17

So be careful how you act; these are difficult days.

Don’t be fools; be wise; MAKE THE MOST OF EVERY
OPPORTUNITY YOU HAVE FOR DOING GOOD.
DON’T ACT THOUGHTLESSLY, BUT TRY TO FIND OUT
AND DO WHATEVER THE LORD WANTS YOU TO.
 What must we do to be ready?
3. We must overcome our FEARS and FASTEN our hope and FAITH in
GOD alone.
