The Thinking Muslim

Story of Prophet NUH

(pbuh) By Rameez Abid
Many years after Prophet
Adam (pbuh), the people
started to pray to idols
instead of Allah.

They would ask the idols for

help instead of Allah.

They had five idols in total

that they used to worship.

2
Allah sent Prophet Nuh
(pbuh) to his people to tell
them to pray to Allah alone.

He was a good speaker and a

patient man.

He told them that praying to

idols is bad and that Allah
does not want us to pray to
them.

3
Only some of Prophet
Nuh’s (pbuh) people
believed and followed
him. Most of them did
not.

Those who did not

follow him started to
get angry at Prophet
Nuh (pbuh).

4
Prophet Nuh (pbuh) tried
to warn them that if they
do not stop praying to
idols, Allah will punish
them.

But the people did not

listen to him and would
put fingers in their ears
so they could not hear
him speak.

5
Prophet Nuh (pbuh)
continued to try to speak
to his people for 950
years, but they did not
follow him.

Allah revealed to Prophet

Nuh (pbuh) that no others
would believe so he
prayed to Allah to
destroy them.

6
Allah ordered Prophet
Nuh (pbuh) to start
building a ship because
Allah is going to send
a flood to kill them
all.

Allah taught Prophet

Nuh (pbuh) how to build
it step by step.

7
When Prophet Nuh’s (pbuh)
people saw him building a
ship, they started to make fun
of him.

But Prophet Nuh (pbuh) did not

care and he continued to build
his ship with the help of
Allah.

When he was done, he waited

for Allah’s sign.

8
When Allah gave Prophet Nuh
(pbuh) the sign, he loaded
the ship with his followers
and a pair, boy and girl,
from every type of animal,
bird, and insect.

9
Then water gushed out of
the ground and from the sky
in large amounts that it
filled the land completely
with water.

Everyone that was not in

the ship drowned and died
as a punishment from Allah.

10
Then the rain finally
stopped and the flood
waters disappeared into
the ground. The land
could be seen again.

Prophet Nuh’s (pbuh)

ship landed on Mount
Judiyy. Then Prophet Nuh
(pbuh) released all of
the animals.

11
Prophet Nuh (pbuh) and
his followers thanked
Allah for saving them.

Many years later when

Prophet Nuh (pbuh)
became old and sick, he
told his children to
remember to worship
Allah alone.
